Spring 2018
Instructors: Jeremy Ficca; Manuel Rodriguez Ladron De Guevara
Location: Crawford Notch, NH
The context of the bath house situates within the woods of White Mountains in New Hampshire. The intervention explores the  enclosure and spatial conditions through the material of concrete and it’s free formed textures. The project diverges into the concrete’s weathering qualities and its sensible temperature conditions. Geometries defines interior and exterior transitional spaces that include temperature qualities.
Isolated from urban density, the prefabricated concrete casts of the monumental structure preserves the historical contexts of the landscape and the geological grounding.
Textures of the interior-sided concrete not only articulates with the tree contexts but also provides a geothermal enclosure generated from the heated pools.
